Local Assistance Center Specialist• Acting emergency management consultant for the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) for COVID-19 and Camp Fire disaster projects. Main advisory areas include emergency response and preparedness. Representative projects include: • COVID-19 (Sacramento, CA): • Guiding a cross-functional initiative with California Governor Gavin Newsom’s fifteen Task Forces to ensure synchronization between federal, state, and local government agencies in disaster response by providing expertise and strategies to respond to and prepare for COVID-19• Regulating communications for a variety of state initiatives, ensuring prompt response times to inquiries and organizing and directing information to the correct point of contact to remain operationally nimble• Quantifying progress through compilation of daily Task Force data reports to inform organizational leadership and assist in decision-making, as well as maintaining detailed documentation to ensure state reimbursement post-disaster• Camp Fire (Paradise, CA): • Directly assisted wildfire disaster survivors one-on-one, increasing engagement in state and federal disaster assistance programs as a client liaison• Project required a balance of providing emotional support and empathy while ensuring that disaster survivors enroll in mandatory state programs, as well as de-escalating upset or angry disaster survivors in high-stress situations• Enhanced client capacity through training new employees, resolving data discrepancies to improve project functionality, and redesigning disaster survivor engagement strategies to increase rapport and build trust.

• Managed a team of eleven through four national projects with partner organizations: AmeriCorps Disaster Response Team (ADRT), Pierce Conservation District, Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, and North Coast Opportunities, Inc. • Audited and balanced an annual budget of over $20,000 • United a team amid changing project logistics through problem-solving with managers and project clients, organized staff and member meetings to ensure project success, and served as a programmatic and administrative coordinator between project team and regional staff • Directed team members and monitored project work to ensure work site safety, project progress, and timely project completion to ensure client satisfaction
