About Kara Mackenzie
I am a feminist scholar, writer, and designer who is interested in the intersections between rhetoric and social justice. I have spent my academic and professional careers exploring the applications of professional writing for driving positive social change by researching and working with a variety of local nonprofit organizations. Currently, I am continuing this focus by working with the MSU Center for Community Engaged Learning on communications strategy, branding and marketing, and event support.I graduated in May 2023 from Michigan State University with undergraduate degrees in Professional & Public Writing and Women's & Gender Studies. At MSU, I was involved in various organizations such as Citizen Scholars, Professional & Public Writing Club, Mental Illness Association, and Honors Times Two, where I helped foster a sense of community and continued to demonstrate my personal commitment to volunteer work.
