Pathologists' Assistant
CurrentAs the Lead PA, I excel in project management and coordination. In the Breast Ischemic Time project, I developed and executed an advanced training program for healthcare professionals, redesigned multi-department workflows, and ensured compliance with provincial certification requirements. I coordinated knowledge transfer in the Alternative Breast Seed Trials, establishing expertise in utilizing non-radioactive breast localization seeds as a safer alternative. Additionally, I significantly improved PA onboarding through robust core competency assessments and training modules. As the Lead, I empowered teams to proactively identify and resolve challenges, driving transformative enhancements to the daily workflow, and by monitoring and analyzing performance goals, I facilitated informed decision-making and operational efficiency improvements. In Surgical Pathology, I performed specialized dissections to ensure accurate diagnosis while effectively communicating and collaborating with pathologists and healthcare professionals. In Forensic Pathology, I conducted precise organ and tissue excavation and coordinated with various departments for death investigations. As a PA Program educator at Western University, I delivered comprehensive instruction on pathology fundamentals, advanced surgical grossing, and post-mortem dissection techniques, assessing and validating students' competency.
