I currently serve as Co-chair along with my husband Mark. Established in 1950, the Christmas Holiday Bureau provides limited financial assistance to low-income families in Lackawanna County during the Holiday Season. Eligible recipients are provided gift cards to purchase clothing, food or toys to help make the holiday season special to them. Donations are welcomed from individuals, businesses, organizations, faith-based organizations and schools to help provide assistance to over 3,000 individuals each year. Volunteers play an important role by helping to schedule appointments, interview recipients and process the gift. We assist approximately 1,000 families in Lackawanna County each holiday season. All funds are raised through donations from the community and all applicants are interviewed for eligibility. Every dollar is deeply needed and appreciated.
