I was content being a stay-at-home mom, but I had always wanted to be in the medical field. I hated needles, so nursing never appealed to me. When my daughter was referred to occupational therapy as a student, I ran to research this strange new therapy she would receive. When I read that I could help people in a medical capacity while not having to use needles, I immediately fell in love with occupational therapy. I have now worked at a Level 1 Trauma Center Hospital for almost ten years. I have worked in a support staff role in inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and outpatient hand therapy services. In addition, for the last five years, I have also been working in a school-based setting in a school for alternate learners who may have ADHD or Autism. I have a wide range of skills that have developed from these diverse settings, and I am so excited to learn more! I am now at the University of Findlay working towards my master's degree and excited about future opportunities!
