As an undergraduate on the campus of The University of TN, I served for three years as a diversity recruiter and this was truly impactful leaving an imprint of being an agent for change. Recently, I earned my certificate from Cornell in Diversity and Inclusion Leadership. This inspired me to work with youth in marginalized areas. For the past three years, I have enjoyed teaching elementary education in the Atlanta Public Schools system. Though this work has been riveting and inspiring, I often felt limited by resources. I will miss my students, but I desire to be in spaces where creativity and innovation are encouraged and discussions regarding advancement of people of color are focus-driven, stimulating, and inspiring. I would love to learn more and possibly discuss opportunities that require my background in recruitment, diversity education, and leadership. I know I would be an asset and the potential for growth/learning would be phenomenal.
