Telemetry Systems EnginerLockheed Martin - United Space Alliance 1988 - 1996This was my first job out of college. I was on the launch team for the Telemetry systems engineering group. I wrote and tested GOAL code for shuttle checkout related to the telemetry acquisition, storage and playback hardware for both ground and RF links. I also channelized far too many sensors from the Orbital Processing Facility or watched for channelizations from the Record and Playback Station. Prior to launch, we ran integrated system level tests round the clock. Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral has the best teamwork in the world, and I probably didn't appreciate it enough, but I certainly learned from it. We never let a Telemetry engineer slip and fall and arrived faster than a Hydralics hour.This was a fun first job because most of us were new grads. Lots of great memories including camping with the alligators, playing poker and lots of parties.
