This includes maintaining datasets for seed collections from several programs and partners made on BLM lands in California, creating collection related GIS products, outreach, and support for seed related needs of the field offices and partner organizations.

Plan and direct riparian restoration efforts in the Upper Gila Watershed using the best available science, a dedicated staff, and more than 30 local and regional partnerships. Responsibilities include technical writing, grant management and grant writing, GIS database management, data management and synthesis, field work, and obtaining and maintaining appropriate permits.

My responsibilities include managing our seed collection and water quality programs as well as building educational, outreach, and volunteer programming that engages the community and promotes stewardship of the Upper Gila Watershed.

I was involved in native plant materials development efforts for the Sonoran Desert through native seed collection and research regarding native species selection for restoration.

Designed and carried out experiments to determine drought tolerance and seed longevity of the Huachuca water umbel (Lilaeopsis schaffneriana var. recurva). Also conducted a seed bank study to determine whether or not this endangered wetland species forms soil seed banks at sites where it had been transplanted to or extirpated from.

I led a group of citizen scientists in data collection for an annual spring wildflower survey as part of Central Arizona/Phoenix Long Term Ecological Research (CAP LTER). Data was collected and analyzed using SPSS software to determine how Nitrogen and Phosphorus deposition affect ephemeral plant species.

I worked as a botanist for a CAP-LTER research project by verifying plant ID, collecting soil samples, performing arthropod sweeps, and measuring vegetation.

Phoenix, Arizona Area

This position supported both informal and formal children's programming by developing curriculum, preparing materials for programs, representing the children's team at offsite outreach events, and by being the point of contact for children's programs held during events and festivals on-site. I also taught classes, led tours, and assisted with projects, as needed.

In this position I led hands-on, inquiry based school tours for children from preschool to 8th grade. They learn about desert ecology with an emphasis on Sonoran Desert plants. I also acted as Day Captain, managing tours for the day and the educators that led those tours by getting the supplies organized and coordinating with school teachers and other staff members involved in the tours to ensure that everything ran smoothly and efficiently. (This was a seasonal position.)

Participated in the digitization of 90,000 DES herbarium specimens. Responsibilities included: high resolution photography, uploading and physically copying data accurately, and Geo-referencing locations for all specimens.

As a research assistant in the herbarium at ASU, I assisted with curatorial duties and aided in the digitization of the collection.
