I was responsible for building up the new Bizlink Serbia production plant. My task was to oversee the brownfield project from its initiation to the final handover phase, all through setting up the legal framework with contractors, through adjusting the project with the needs of the organization and executing changes, through closely monitoring and controlling the execution of the budget.

An amazing opportunity and a very nice ride that was unfortunately short-lived due to personal events... It was an eye-opener and sparked a bit of a sales thing that I apparently have in my personality... ADA is representing in the middle east some of the world's best ground support equipment manufacturers. I wish the company all the best, hoping that my presence there contributed at least a peanut of positivity.

I got to grow my project management skills proportionally with the complexity of the projects I was responsible for. At a certain point, I realized that things should be done in a more structured way and knowledge that came together with PMP certification really helped. However, deliverables are finally delivered by the team, that is well established, with the right qualifications matching the challenges, and that is precisely coordinated. Let's not forget the effective and managed communication that takes about 80% of the project manager's life.

Kragujevac

I had a privilege to be a member of the first setup in operations in the FIAT plant in Kragujevac - Serbia, first as a supervisor in the assembly shop trim line, then as a warehouse responsible in the press shop. That was the first time I was in touch with the automotive industry, indeed I've quickly learned that life can be tough! However, I have also learned that success comes from the TEAM and the difference between delivering "results" and "excellent results" can be measured proportionally between management and LEADERSHIP. I have brought with me after this experience a bunch of colleagues (both above and below me) that I dare to call my friends. I have also served as Kaizen Plant Pillar Leader for focus (continuous) improvement in WCM (World Class Manufacturing) methodology: coaching, collecting, steering, monitoring and evaluating small, medium and large-sized Kaizen projects submitted by plant staff.

This was my first full-time job, though I have been working with the same company on a part-time basis during my studies. As a freshly graduated engineer, I was mostly learing and gaining my first "real business" experience.

IAESTE students exchange program - worked for a summer in the copper pipes factory in the QA department, gaining practical technical experience.
