Kindergarten Teacher
Current•Provides a safe, structured and nurturing environment in which students can flourish socially and academically. Collaborates with grade level teammates to plan instruction and support a wide range of student needs, academically, socially and behaviorally. Works with specialists in the building (Special Educators, OT, SLP, etc.) to support students IEP goals. Effectively communicates with student families to form supportive relationships based on trust. Participates in professional development regularly to learn new content and add to current knowledge to continually improve as an educator. •Building Leadership Team (2014-2020) Represented the Kindergarten team on a small committee of building leaders. Made decisions, organized, planned and delivered professional development to the building staff. Developed a school improvement plan. Analyzed building assessment data to identify strengths and weaknesses and act accordingly. Set goals, tracked progress, continually monitored improvements and made adjustments.•Multi-Tiered Support System Math Committee (2018-2021) Represented Kindergarten as Olathe Public Schools collaborated with TASN to develop an MTSS math program, aimed to identify holes in student learning, provide targeted instruction and progressmonitor to ensure future success. I provided a unique perspective on this project, as the needs of Kindergarten students differ from those in other grade levels. •Technology Facilitator (2014-2017) Point person for all building technology needs regarding student and staff iPads. Provided training on specific apps and programs, communicated with district technology staff, troubleshot device issues.
