I have worked in both human medicine and veterinary medicine. I began my career as an emergency counselor working with patients in an emergency department setting in acute emotional/psychological distress. I have also worked at the Maine Poison Control Center as a poison specialist for both humans and animal poisonings. I attained my License as a veterinary technician and worked in small animal practices in Maine. Founder and President of the Academy of Veterinary Nutrition Technicians. Internationally invited speaker on nutrition, personal/professional development, and healthcare team utilization. Authored numerous journal articles, books, and book chapters.
