New York State certified Emergency Medical Technician - Basic. Responds to on-campus medical emergencies throughout the academic year. On call minimum of 24 hours per week. Holds positions on squad of Supervisor (internal ranking, legally responsible for events that take place on a call), Head of Hiring, Designated Infection Control Officer, and Internal Review Committee (IRC) Member.

Responsible for watching and maintaining safe computer lab space in science building at Bard College. Handles people who are not treating computers safely and removes people from space if unsafe.

Chosen to manage and schedule shifts for 14 student drivers. Emergency Drivers take students to and from the hospital and campus. Attend weekly meetings with Student Resource Group, filling out time sheets, communicating with the drivers and the directors of Bard Transportation, and potentially resolving conflicts between Administers on Duty and other drivers.

Helps maintain a clean and orderly laboratory space in the biology laboratory at Bard College. Runs biological waste, cleans glassware, maintains safe laboratory space.

Asked to join group of 9 students to be trained and run coding workshops for the Language and Thinking Program. Last year, the coding workshop was added to show the correlation between a hard science and the humanities. Taught a 90 minute session, approximately 3 times a day, for 7 days.

Chosen through a competitive application process to become part of a group of 12 students that were trained to help run the Citizen Science Program. Citizen Science is required for all first-years, to foster scientific thinking skills and help connect those skills to other disciplines. Completed 30+ hours of laboratory training, along with personal research outside training hours. Required to be prepared to instruct first-years on any laboratory protocols. Engaged students with presented concepts, and collaborated with faculty members to support their curriculum. Responsible for laboratory preparations (pouring plates, culturing bacteria, cleaning glassware), set-up and breakdown of classroom, and reviewing all conceptual material before lab periods.

Chosen through competitive application process to work with biology professors from Bard College and Sarah Lawrence College on inaugural year of 4-year research project, funded by the National Science Foundation. Research was conducted in Kansas prairies to study affects of fragmentation on biodiversity and fungal pathogens. Required to keep track of tasks and experimental set up. Managed and problem-solved problems that arose in the field. Worked with other students to input and organize data, and run germination tests. Trusted to complete seed burials and sensor networks across landscape.
