CurrentAdirondack Aquatic Center (AAC) is a planned 80,000-square-foot indoor aquatic facility in Schenectady, NY that will be the premier facility of its kind in the Northeast. This state-of-the-art facility will provide programs that advance the safety and health of area residents from infants to seniors, including Learn-to-Swim, aquatic exercise, and rehabilitation programs. These important services will be uninterrupted during aquatic competitive practices and events. AAC is a multi-pool facility that will have the ability to serve all major aquatic sports: competitive swimming and diving, water polo, synchronized swimming, and other unique sports. Local, regional, and national aquatic competitions will be held here. This complex will help our children gain valuable life-long skills and help our adults get and stay healthy, while significantly contributing to our local and state economies. The overall economic impact of AAC is estimated to be in the tens of millions of dollars annually, drawing over 100,000 athletes and spectators each year.The AAC Board of Directors will need partners, and is currently meeting with local and state government officials, business leaders, and philanthropists to make AAC a reality.
