In addition to the roles of Office Manager and Executive Assistant, I have begun the journey of personal and professional development into a new area, Health & Safety. I am currently learning about the aspects of a comprehensive H&S system within GDI, as well as federal and provincial legislative requirements to ensure all employees have a safe and healthy environment to perform their duties. I am looking forward to challenging myself in this new aspect of my career!

In the midst of an acquisition, I became an integral part of the GDI family very quickly. I was responsible for many aspects of the integration of two large companies, including IT infrastructure and personnel location changes. As the lead on a variety of projects, my role has and continues to evolve to include many different aspects of the business on an administrative level. I work closely with our Senior Management team, as well as at the branch level with the Operations team.

As SERVPRO Industries, Inc began its expansion into Canada, our team in Alberta worked to prepare for franchise ownership and operation. As one of four team members, my role was to manage the administrative aspects of the business prior to and upon start-up. Our first franchise, and the first in Canada, opened in Edmonton in January of 2011. The second one opened in Calgary as major flooding began in the spring of 2013, which provided additional challenges and learning opportunities. As each of the businesses grew, my responsibilities moved from day to day office management, to providing background support. It has been exciting to be a part of these ventures, and a unique experience witnessing their growth from start-up to where they are now.
