As a Medical Scribe, I prepared notes for the physician prior to seeing the patient, took all notes for the physician during patient encounters, processed the encounter and wrote up a record for the encounter and patient.

Guiding children through art projects

Tutored high school students in Physics, Geometry, Chemistry and English at San Leandro High School, CAAchievement Learning is a non-profit NGO serving underprivileged students in the Oakland, San Leandro areas.

As an undergraduate lab tech in the Gottlieb, HIV-2 Lab, I helped graduate student Dana Raugi in her research on "Protease and hyper-susceptibility phenotypes conferred by single amino acid changes in HIV-2 Protease". This research was presented at the CROI 2012 conference in Seattle, WA. I also assisted Dr. Robert Smith, performing PCR with HIV-2 Pro-RT, QuikChange IIXL site directed mutagenesis, plasmid Maxi Preps, interpretation of data and preliminary prepping for sequencing and testing of these HIV-2 viral plasmids.
