Alongside engineers, designers, animators, and even teachers I help ensure that GPA Learn team deliver an exciting educational platform for children in grades K through 5. Within my year in the company, I've worked with the Grails web app framework and used MongoDB for our database needs. In addition to developing server side controllers and domain objects, I've designed and implemented User Interfaces for both in house administrators and product customers. For these client interfaces, we leverage the AngularJS framework to create dynamic, data driven web pages. Bringing together my engineering experiences in a modern light, the GPA Learn™ framework engineering team participates in Agile Scrum development to provide flexibility and responsiveness to our many customer's needs. As a research intern, I worked alongside one other intern to help test and debug functionality within the core code of the AMMO project. The code was a networking middleware for Android and was included in a large, automated build system. Personal responsibilities included writing tests for various components of the middleware, and finding ways to automate testing to verify code integrity between builds.

Over the summer, I worked alongside two others to create transmission models in Simulink. These were developed for a Software Radio platform as part of the Marmote project. In this group environment, we learned of the many types of data encoding for radio transmissions and finished the summer with multiple transmssion models. These models were then used for further reasearch on the project.

Alongside one other intern, I learned the basics of web programming. We were tasked with developing a website for the Chemical Engineering department. Developed in Perl, this website read from a folder of simulation files and dynamically created a webpage for simple editing of the fields. Once the fields were edited, the file could be saved back to the folder as the same file or a different file. The developed website was not launched, but instead was part of further research projects.
