About Kara Kolomitz, Ed.D

Kara Kolomitz, Ed.D., has extensive experience in the non-profit sector and education administration. She is known for her bold leadership, innovation, and strategic planning. Kara currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the College of St. Benedict and Saint John’s University.Known as an energetic and visionary leader within secondary and higher education, Kara has held the role of Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of Enrollment and Student Affairs, Vice President of Student Affairs. As a Dean of Students, she was awarded with the Scott Goodnight service as an outstanding Dean award. A graduate of Regis University, Colorado, where she was selected “woman of the year” upon her graduation, she studied Philosophy and Communication Arts and went on to receive her M.Ed. from Providence College in Rhode Island and then her CDA from Rhode Island School of Design. In 2012, Kara completed the HERS (Higher Education Resources Institute) for Women in Higher Education at Wellesley College. Kara earned her doctorate in higher education leadership from Johnson and Wales University in 2016 and her dissertation research focused on first time presidents at small, private colleges. Valuing education at all levels, Kara has served a variety of boards and schools to further educational opportunities in our communities.
