My work experience as a Registered Nurse includes the Emergency department, medical-surgical, oncology, rehabilitation center, and leadership experience as an assistant director at the Rehabilitation center. Nursing is a gift that keeps giving and growing. Nursing was a passion on mine that is sowed in the depths of my heart. I am originally from India and completed my bachelor of nursing in India and started working as a clinical instructor. Then I got moved to the United States in December 2011 with my husband. I passed the NCLEX exam in 2012. I was blessed with a daughter in 2012. I started working in a Skilled nursing facility in 2013. The system was completely different from India. But I learned the skills quickly and was able to move to supervisory positions. I worked as a floor nurse, charge nurse, nurse supervisor, and Assistant Director and then moved to an acute hospital setting to gain more skills. I worked in the medical-Surgical and Oncology unit for two years and then moved to the Emergency Department to get exposure to a rapid and challenging work environment. I learned nursing skills, communication skills, the chain of command, palliative care skills, and many more throughout my nursing journey. The three-year FNP program with West Coast University prepared me for collecting objective data, subjective data, diagnosis, and treatment plans. The Onsite intensives prepared and improved the skills in physical examination including head to toe exam, pelvic exam, pap smears, breast examination, rectum exam, prostate exam and many more.
