With nearly 15 years in the Indian Revenue Services, my focus has been of fostering innovation and progress in India's economic landscape while tactfully navigating the complexity of my field. I've had the privilege of spearheading many programs and initiatives in the Indirect Tax Department such as implementation of Service Tax Amnesty Scheme (VCES), modernisation of both physical and digital infrastructure projects, easing tax and regulatory compliance by Industry. Some of the noteworthy projects include advancing the work in the Department's residential infrastructure project at Dwarka - CITRA which is the largest residential complex for IRS officers in Delhi-NCR; work in improving the Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS) at Delhi Airport and helping in its nation wide implementation across all International Airports; implementation of Project Saksham - GST IT infrastructure project was instrumental and ensured Department's readiness for GST.Internationally, I have led India's negotiation on IPR and Innovation, contributing significantly to Free Trade Agreements with the UK and the Swiss-led EFTA block. Most recently, I was the lead negotiator for India at the WIPO Diplomatic Conference on Genetic Resources and Traditional Knowledge.At DPIIT, my focus is on advancing the National IPR Policy 2016 to foster an ecosystem conducive to innovation while simplifying compliance and enforcement in the Patent System. I actively engage in International policy matters related to IPR, participate in bilateral and multilateral negotiations, and contribute to shaping national policy on e-commerce and Copyright.
