The Interaction between a processor manipulating data from a variety of sensors, to control a system, is incredibly fascinating to me. This perfect composite of hardware and software, hidden behind the design, construction and operation of a robot, intrigues me to no end! Within this vast subject, areas of environmental robotics are particularly interesting to me, as I see potential to change lives as an outcome of research in this field. I have always felt a strong need to use my knowledge and skills to help others, and to contribute to society. All my projects echo this very principle, which continues to be my motivation to pursue Masters in Mechatronics at UOW. I have a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore. During my undergraduate career, I worked on several projects (see below), which were highly commended by experts in the subject. Automated Stair Climbing Wheelchair (Mobility device for disabled and Elderly).• Received Rs 1 Lac funding and stipend from Department of Science & Technology (DST-INDIA).Intelligent Light Sensitive Roof Panel (to Maximize Daylight in Commercial Buildings)• Received Rs. 5 lakhs prototype funding from IIT Madras & US Consulate General, Chennai under the category Carbon Zero Challenge.• Received support of One Lac from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Innovation Ecosystems.Competing in various robotics events has always been my passion as it has challenged me to think out of the box to solve various real world problems.
