In grade 5 I asked my science teacher, "How does a Pressure Cooker's whistle work?". The answer provided to me was according to my mental knowledge, at that moment. Unsatisfied, I shifted my focus towards finding the proper theoretical answer and failed the subject. At the Parent Teacher Meeting, I was given a lesson. I was told that I needed 'The learnings required to learn'. Those lessons have since stuck with me, which have made me a quick learner that I am today. I have been learning SolidWorks 3D since High School, and enrolling in a Mechanical Engineering Design program has helped me use the software to its full use. I've learnt about GD&T Principles (According to ASME standards), Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) principles, Hydraulics & Pneumatics, AutoCAD 2D drafting, PC-DIMS software, Autodesk Inventor Drafting, Applied Statics and Dynamics, as well as Fluid Mechanics. All of these have been used in my Capstone Project, Jig & Fixture design project, and Mastercam Part Design project. I aspire to keep growing and am developing my skills in the CATIA v5 software. I boast of part design knowledge, but I still have a lot to learn about the Classes of Surfacing. Moreover, I seek to add FEA skills to my arsenal and begin with learning simulation using the SolidWorks software first. I have been involved in material testing (Torsion, Hardness, Tensile) and that will certainly help me involve myself into simulation and data better.
