As part of the Project Delivery Team, I work closely with contractors, other consultants, and clients for a seamless delivery of projects. We focus on geotechnical engineering projects performing subsurface investigations, and site reviews including soil anchor testing, shoring compliance, site inspections, pile driving, subgrade reviews, and mass earthworks. As part of the engineering team, I prepare the project scope and preliminary cost estimates, followed by managing the project scope, deliverables, schedules, budgets, quality, and any ongoing changes to the project requirements. The multi-faceted projects I work on require constant communication with stakeholders, including municipalities, private developers, other professionals, the general public, and special interest groups. I specialize in managing multiple projects that are all at different stages of the project life cycle, with varying requirements and stakeholder expectations.

Worked with the Machine Learning Team to provide a civil engineering and asset inspection perspective to better align the AI model with the functional requirements of infrastructure owners, and to improve model accuracy in the early detection of failures in bridges and dams.

As part of the Municipal Engineering Team, I worked on public (municipal and provincial governments) projects involving preliminary and detailed designs for roads and roundabouts, utilities, pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, transit facilities, and institutional facilities. design, I worked closely with engineers, technologists, and planners to deliver infrastructure projects that were designed with an emphasis on accessibility for disabled and elderly users, and mixed-use modes of transportation. My day-to-day also involved project coordination responsibilities such as attending meetings with sub-consultants, city engineers and inspectors, architects, and other stakeholders such as the public and special interest or advocacy groups. I also attended project kick-off meetings, and took meeting minutes and followed up with the Project Team regarding the assigned action items. Other responsibilities involved attending sites during the construction phases of the projects, preparing daily and weekly project progress reports, responding to RFIs, authoring technical memos and reports, conflict resolution on construction sites and within different teams, and negotiating services and materials with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.

As part of the engineering team, I worked on the manufacturing of 1.2m and 3m diameter concrete pipes that were installed using trenchless technology (jacking pipe installation) on Metro Vancouver's major drainage system project in Surrey, BC. Quality Assurance duties:• Managed the quality assurance program for the manufacturing of 1.2m and 3m diameter jacking pipes (trenchless technology) which was the first of its kind in Canada• Researched and liaised with North American manufacturers to find applicable standards for the manufacturing and quality assurance suitable for jacking pipes due to a lack of standards within the region• Prepared the quality control inspection sheets for the jacking pipes based on industry best practices and available specifications• Designed an in-house tool for measuring pipe end squareness in collaboration with the project manager and the manufacturing team.• Prepared Standard Operating Procedures for repair work on concrete pipes and manholes based on ASTM and CSA standards, and industry practicesProject Coordination duties:• Coordinated all communication between the engineering department and production teams• Resolved conflicts arising between design and production teams during the manufacturing process• Communicated with representatives from a European manufacturer ensuring manufacturing and quality assurance procedures adopted were up to industry best practicesDrafting duties:• Drafted engineering drawings for precast concrete products (i.e. headwalls, vaults, stormceptors, etc.)

I worked with several construction companies, e.g., Aecon, PCL, and Walters Inc., for short- and long-term industrial construction projects at some of the largest potash mines, refineries, and other industrial sites in Saskatchewan, in both above and underground roles.My day-to-day duties included fabricating designs based on engineering drawings, completing the assigned tasks using welding or ironworking skills, designing and fabricating temporary, non-structural members on-site, training new apprentices, conducting deficiency checks and examining completed work to ensure accuracy, and attending and holding tool-box safety meetings every morning before commencing work.
