Karan is a proven leader delivering step-change growth for VC and PE-backed businesses, with 16 years of experience across executive leadership, consulting, finance, and operations. Karan is currently leading Bark.com in North America. In his previous role, Karan launched and significantly scaled upGrad’s North America business. upGrad is a $2.25B EdTech unicorn backed by Temasek, IFC, and other top tier investors. Prior to this, Karan led Business Planning at Wayfair, working with the executive team on financial performance, short and long term forecasting, scenario planning, while partnering with Investor relations to distill data for the public markets and analyst community. Additionally, Karan defined and executed accountability plans for individual business unit leaders against Wayfair's group-level growth ambitions. Prior to this, Karan led Partner Operations for Wayfair’s $1B+ Canada business, as well as for Wayfair’s specialty retail brands (Perigold, Joss & Main, AllModern, Birch Lane). Throughout his career, Karan has led growth minded teams of various sizes, and delivered high impact projects with a strict adherence to defined metrics. He has shown repeatedly that he can thrive in ambiguity, be charged with broad mandates, and create value rapidly accretive to a company’s bottom line. Karan has a MBA from The Wharton School, a MA from the University of Pennsylvania, and an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Tech.
