As the Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Infoware Group, I created a content program of blog posts, white papers, guides and email campaigns. Using SEO and marketing best practices, it is my job to increase web sessions and drive up MQLs. I manage our social media channels, track engagement, and collaborate with third-party vendors to help us with videos and web development.

I worked as the communications assistant at the CAAT Pension Plan, covering a maternity leave.In this role I helped prepare news articles, member newsletters and update employer information. I utilized SEO to increase traffic to our website, which resulted in Plan members gaining a better understanding of how the pension works. This included translating complex financial information into straightforward articles. I worked cross-functionally with Employer Services to make sure our brand and tone stayed consistent. I created a style guide from scratch, wrote and storyboarded a video and wrote many articles for the newsletter.

My time at Firefly was spent working on several of their books, including their sports titles and books on Ontario. These included editing essays, player profiles, road trip guides and lists of places to see. I did extensive photo research on various sites, and then used Photoshop to ensure they had the appropriate dimensions. I fact-checked, copyedited and proofread all the books I worked on. I created pagination charts for myself in order to stay organized and on top of all my tasks. I corresponded with authors and designers, created CIP pages, and contributed in editorial meetings.I edited the eighth edition of Hockey Now! from beginning to end, which meant working closely with the author; editing and fact-checking more than 70 player profiles; selecting over 140 images; and proofreading the entire book before going to press. It was an incredible experience and I am very honoured to have been thanked by the author in the acknowledgements.
