I am a senior level multi-discipline engineer with a background in physics, research, project development, and management. A highly motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate professional who excels in applying modern science and technology to solve the problem at hand. I have experience working on cross-functional teams, and maintain a stark devotion to delivering the highest quality results to customers. I currently work for Corning Inc. as a Controls Software Developer for the Optical Communications divsion, where our focus is the manufacturing of the highest quality low-loss optical fiber in the world. My job is to develop and maintain the custom software platforms that operate the manufacturing equipment, and to improve the efficacy and precision with which we make our product. I have a Masters Degree from Appalachian State University in Engineering Physics with a concentration in Systems and Laboratory Automation. I previously received my Bachelors of Science degree in Physics from Appalachian State University as well. I am highly interested in physics and engineering; particularly in hardware and software engineering, digital and analog circuitry, and various aspects of microscopy and nanoscience. My graduate research is in the field of microscopy, specifically Atomic Force Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy. I am currently continuing work under Dr. Tonya Coffey and Dr. Phillip Russell. My undergraduate research was focused in atmospheric physics, under Dr. James Sherman, specifically the characterization of localized atmospheric aerosols. With my knowledge and skill set, I have the qualifications necessary to be a valuable asset in the engineering industry.
