In the end of 2021, Karel Masarik moved to the position of President with the responsibility for the emerging technologies development in the areas such as safety and security, HPC, or AI/ML. Based on his university research in the field of use of microprocessor architecture description languages and in microprocessor electronic design automation tools, as a President of Codasip he established the Codasip University program. The main goal of this program is evangelism of RISC-V open standard to the universities and its embracement to future engineers for the acceleration of its industrial deployment.

Karel Masarik led the development of Codasip’s underlying technologies as part of a university technological incubator and then founded Codasip in 2014. Codasip launched its processor development toolset Codasip Studio in 2014, and announced its first RISC-V processor core in late 2015. As CEO, he has led the company through several funding rounds and has overseen the company's international expansion.

Karel Masarik is actively involved in EU activities such as drafting of EU Chip Act, and is working closely with several EU member states to adopt RISC-V as an industry standard.

As the member of RISC-V Technical Steering Committee, Karel Masarik influenced the direction of the RISC-V standard towards the commercial customers future needs.

Dr. Karel Masarik leads the team which is developing the Codasip® Framework and Codasip® Startup Processor Platforms.Dr. Masarik is responsible for research in the area of compilers, simulators and hardware generators, formal and functional verification of the microprocessors at the Brno University of Technology.

In the ATRON electronic GmbH Germany, Masarik led design and development of testing system for embedded systems. He was a part of the ATRON research group at the same time and worked closely with the FernUniversitat Hagen Germany. Later on he took over the responsibility for the design and implementation of the core of the real time operating system for the onboard computer used in public transport.
