I am a Co-Founder of Lemma, a DAO services firm based in the Cayman Islands. In this position I have assisted Foundations with the set-up of their operations, governance and grant programs. My interest in the crypto space started in 2020 when I explored Bitcoin. From there it expanded to DAO's and governance. Over the course of the next two years I dappled in this space in my personal time and learning. In 2022 I was fortunate to join the Hash finance department. Over the course of my time with Hash and through working closely with the team on their clients the need became apparent for operational assistance. This led to the formation of Lemma to assist DAO's and Foundations with their operations. I am actively working with our clients and fellow Lemma employees to grow the industry and create value for our clients. I am a qualified South African Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with multiple years experience in audit, financial accounting, governance, operations and digital assets.My path to my current roles starts in South Africa. In my three years of articles at Deloitte South Africa I worked on a variety of clients in far reaching industries. Spanning from mining to Media and Broadcasting. My clients varied between private and large listed entities giving me a wide range of experience. The different nature of my clients had the added benefit of working on teams of various sizes. Teaching me how to work on an individual level as well as working within large groups. Upon the completion of my articles, I took on a short term contract in the United States with Deloitte. This presented me with the opportunity to learn US GAAP and to experience the audit industry in a different country and setting. In the US, I was privileged to work in a diverse team environment on private equity clients. After my short term contract in the US ended, I moved to Deloitte Cayman Islands where I worked in their insurance department. It was during this time that my interest in Crypto and Blockchain was piqued. I started researching, exploring and playing more in this area eventually obtaining Certified Bitcoin Professional qualification.
