About Karem Marcomini

Received the BS degree in Computer Science from University of Sagrado Coração, Bauru, Brazil in 2009, and concluded the Master and Doctorate in Science from University of São Paulo, São Carlos, Brazil (2012 and 2017). During the PhD, spent a period in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh, United States (nov/15-oct/16) as visiting researcher. Post doctorate (nov/20 - mar/2022) in Computer Science from University of São Paulo, São Carlos, Brazil. Her research interest includes the areas of medical image processing (mammography, ultrasound, elastography and chest X-ray), artificial neural networks, machine learning, deep learning, computer-aided diagnosis. She is currently a Professor at the Paulista University (UNIP), Campinas, Brazil and Image Processing Analyst at Pix Force, Porto Alegre, Brazil.
