Having spent over a decade in Primary Education, I made the decision to leave teaching and begin an exciting new venture in Marketing and training. As much as I loved the new challenges, and was excited to use the myriad of skills I gained within teaching, and apply them to a wider variety of creative applications. I missed the community that goes hand-in-hand with the education sector. After gaining a wealth if knowledge about the marketing sector, I moved to utilise old and new skills within Further Education. The connections I make with people are important to me, and I naturally take on supportive roles within teams. A happy working environment is vital; that means organisation, fast action, planning and superb teamworking relationships. Before teaching I was fortunate to have had several exciting and challenging roles. In my role as Import / Export Shipping Coordinator, I learned to prioritise work-loads and keep to strict deadlines. Working within Airport Security protocols and Customs paperwork restraints, I learned to be meticulous and maintain a high level of accuracy. My varied roles within accounts gave me skills across various IT programs, which I endeavour to maintain. Teaching has to have been my biggest challenge to date. From managing 30+ children and all their parents; creating a strong working team; reporting to governing bodies; updating websites, researching topics to create engaging and meaningful lessons; to learning to teach remotely - in a day! All of these experiences have been beyond valuable, and my memories and teaching will forever be cherished. My role in Marketing used my personable skills to connect with others to support digital marketing strategies, personal branding, content strategies and ensure that our clients had the best customer experience. My team was proud of the exceptional training we provided to C-suites. The vertical learning curve in Marketing gave me new perspectives and insights that have shaped the way I now work. My two biggest passions outside work are Latin dance and my motorbike. Dancing is not only great exercise, but an important aspect of my social life and I love meeting people from all over the world. Apart from riding my SV650s, I enjoy maintaining and fixing bikes and love to get my hands on a grimy carburettor! I constantly seek new challenges within all aspects of my life and am passionate about lifelong learning and pushing myself beyond my comfort zone.
