Karen Arm is a New York based Artist, Editor, and Image Researcher.Since Graduating From The Cooper Union with a BFA, and then Columbia where she completed a MFA, Karen has consistently been drafting a line between representational and abstract painting.Finding inspiration from the patterns and rhythms observed in small natural forms or great physical systems, Karen builds composition by rendering "a mark" and then creating a world through its repetition and augmentation. Karen was integral part of The Archive for Research in Archetypal Symbolism for 27 years. As an expert in Art History, she contributed to several major publications as the Managing Editor.Karen lives and paints in both Brooklyn and Shelter Island New York, where nature is always near.
