With over 28 years experience in social change philanthropy, Karen Ashmore is founder of Ashmore Consulting (www.ashmoreconsulting.org), which specializes in working with foundations and non-profits led by people of color and/or women. Previously she was Executive Director of the Global Education Fund. Prior to that she was the Executive Director of the Lambi Fund of Haiti for 8 years. She has served in all roles of foundations and non-profit organizations: staff, board, consultant, donor, client, and volunteer. She earned her B.A. from the University of South Carolina and an M.A. in Global Studies from the University of Denver. She and her husband are the parents of six children. Specialties: Experience in nonprofit management, social change philanthropy, fundraising, grant writing, sustainable development, education, social media, diversity, inclusiveness, and board/staff training for international and local organizations empowering women, girls, children and youth, and disenfranchised populations, especially Latinx, African American, Haitian, Native American and LGBTQ communities.
