After spending two decades in the hospitality and financial industries, I faced plenty of personal and professional challenges that really shaped my mission to help others reach their potential. There were moments of self-doubt and setbacks, but I’ve learned to use those experiences to fuel my passion for empowering others.My turning point came when I realized that, like me, many people struggle to find their way because of barriers like socioeconomic status, personal hardships, or simply a lack of support. That’s what motivated me to create TRU Potential. I wanted to give people the tools, confidence, and guidance they need to overcome whatever’s holding them back.Through TRU Potential, I’ve had the privilege of running workshops for organizations like the Region of Peel, Urban Arts, and Youth Employment Services (YES). My workshops really resonate with participants because I don’t just talk about the wins—I share my own mistakes and successes. I think that being vulnerable and authentic is key to showing people that they have value and can do incredible things.When I’m not busy with workshops or events, you can find me hanging out with my nephews or catching a good movie. And on cold days, there’s nothing better than enjoying a cup of orange pekoe tea—my little moment of joy in the midst of life’s challenges.
