My role involves line managing nine permanent staff and also agency staff. I am accountable for financials and a budget. I lead on classroom based delivery -planning tutor timetables in line with the business profile and financial targets and ensuring tutors have all the relevant training materials. Deliver support and training to staff including associate trainers, in line with company requirements and ensure staff are attending regular standardisation meetings. Take the lead to ensure all quality standards are met and curriculum delivery is up to date and compliant. Ensure all portfolios are of a good standard and up to date. Liaise with delivery locations and trainers to ensure effective delivery of programme. Liaise with Training Engagement Officer and Business Relations Manager to ensure referrals are met from the job centre and employers are engaged. Take the lead on traineeships for the region. Work with learning co-ordinators and trainers to ensure paperwork is compliant and upladed to pics database within a 48 hour window slot. Deputise for the Regional Mananger on alll classroom based delivery and funding requirements in managers absence. To ensure that all tutors work at Grade 2 and meet Ofsted requirements.

In my role I quality check all enrolment forms for the courses we run, working to deadlines.. I deal with any issues that may arise with the tutors and support then with their compliance files and ofsted inspections.

I have been working as a trainer with EOS for four years. I am the Hospitality and Catering Tutor for EOS. I have over 26 years’ experience in the catering industry. My main area of speciality is teaching the long term unemployed in gaining experience in a working kitchen and hospitality environment. We have a fully fitted kitchen and serve staff and customers to breakfast and lunch. I am quite passionate about helping clients get into work, motivating them, offering them advice and helping clients with any barriers that they may have. I run an accredited four week course which includes food hygiene. I am also lead tutor and have to cover for the Department Manager when he is absent or on annual leave, completing all reports for Head Office and dealing with any issues that may arise from other tutors. I also support other tutors with their compliance files and also ofsted inspections.

I ran my own business for six years serving the public to food and drink. Organising activities such as theme nights, fun days etc. I was responsible for all stocktaking, ordering, cellar work and training of staff. I did the closing of till and all the accounts.

I was manager of Halls 1 -5 and had to make sure all catering and bar outlets were fully staffed for all the shows that were on. I also liaised with agencies to book casual staff. I reported to the Managers of the Halls to make sure all requisitions were met.

I was promoted to Senior Catering Manager in 1999 running a large kitchen with 22 staff in a Senior School which made me responsible for making sure all meals were served on time that was including breakfast, morning break and main lunch. I served around 800-1000 meals a week including all teaching staff. Other duties made my- self responsible for the training and safety of my staff and to give appraisals and encourage them to further their own careers. I was in charge of all stocktaking, invoices and weekly accounts and was responsible for all ordering and checking deliveries and stock rotation.
