My name is Karen Coronado and I'm a graduate from the University of California San Diego with my B.S. in Social Psychology and a graduate from the University of California, Irvine with a Masters in Legal and Forensic Psychology. Research AssistantDevelopment, Disorder, And Delinquency Lab Sep 2019 - PresentUniversity Of California, IrvineThe three studies within this lab are a joint project between UCI Campus and Orange County Judicial SystemPrincipal Investigator: Dr. Elizabeth CauffmanThe Crossroads StudyLocate and investigate participants within the study while maintaining an individual caseload.Conduct 2+ hour interviews with participants (in-person, over the phone, via Zoom) asking questions related to exposure to violence, risky behavior, health, emotional adjustment, and self-reported offending (SRO). Review materials related to the study (safety procedures, consent forms, interview guidelines) and provide suggestions for updating. The Young Adult Court Study (YAC)Interview young adults out in the community, at court proceedings, and in detention facilities who have come into contact with the criminal justice system with a felony offense.Act as the Young Adult Court Training Manager, create and coordinate trainings for research assistants to conduct YAC interviews. The Road to Reentry StudyConduct 2+ hour interviews with young adults who are currently incarcerated due to a felony conviction. These young adults are either experiencing the institution as they normal would or are randomized into a group that lives in a unit of the facility that provides specialized services in order to understand what variables may impact one’s potential to recidivate.
