About Karen Lee Yoder

As the Director of Athletics and Physical Education at California State University Maritime Academy, I oversee the strategic direction, administration, and management of the athletics department and the physical education program. I have over 25 years of leadership experience in athletics, physical education, recreation, and kinesiology, and I hold a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California State University-Hayward.My core competencies include student development, fundraising, higher education, supervision, recruitment, evaluation, teaching, budget preparation, fiscal accountability, event coordination, and community service. I have a comprehensive knowledge of CCCAA, NCAA, NAIA, NFHS and Title IX, and I am certified as a Civil Rights Investigator, a Title IX Administrator/Coordinator, and an Athletic Administrator. My mission is to foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and diversity among our student-athletes, coaches, and staff, and to enhance the academic, athletic, and personal growth of our students. I am also committed to engaging with our campus and community partners to promote the visibility and support of our athletics, recreation, intramurals, and physical education programs.
