Rev. Dr. Karen Lyons has been in ministry since 1999 and is presently Senior Pastor at Morrow First UMC in Morrow, GA. Her previous experience includes being Senior Pastor of Clarkston UMC for five years, St.James UMC in Alpharetta, Ga for one year and Cliftondale UMC in Atlanta, Ga for nine years. She previously worked as a Chaplain Intern at Southern Regional Hospital, Grady Hospital and at Metro State Prison. Karen is President/Founder of Bridges of Hope and Empowerment International Inc., an Atlanta-based nonprofit with 4 local leaders(staff) in Kenya. The organization is incorporated by the IRS as a 501 (C ) 3 nonprofit organization in Georgia as a registered Community Based Organization (CBO) in Kenya. BOHEI is dedicated to provide programs that emphasize education, reduce malnutrition and diseases, and promote community empowerment and self-sustainability.
