With nearly 30 years in Practice Management for Australian and International Architecture firms, I have demonstrated my ability to script the critical moves required for business success! My strengths, as evidenced in business planning, financial management, contractual negotiation, risk management, project resourcing, human resources and a penchant for drawing straight lines, makes me an unusual Architect! But I have a comprehensive understanding of the complexity of the process of architectural design and delivery that enables me to identify areas for practice improvement. I can re-design the framework and provide a vehicle to challenge the outcomes by restructuring organisational context, articulating visions, implementing systems and consolidating process + procedures – the fundamentals for building collective efficacy in a supportive, equitable and collaborative workplace. With irrefutably high business and personal ethics, and an honesty and integrity above reproach, I will ensure only the best outcome for the project, the client, the practice and its people. With a focus on excellence in professional standards and the advancement of professional knowledge in the industry, I have acted in, and continue to contribute to, various roles in both academia and industry committees, including as Deputy Chair for the ARBV, ARBV Board Member and Examiner, AIA Chapter Councillor, an AACA monitor and Women in Architecture Mentor, Victorian representative on the AIA National Practice Committee, RMIT Architecture Industry Advisory Committee and currently the Practice of Architecture Committee (AIA Victoria). In my previous role, I managed the practice from a 15 person team (turnover of $1.9m) to 150 people and a turnover of $35m at its peak – and grow to become an globally recognised firm.
