My vision is to see every student empowered with the agency and identity to reach high levels of achievement in school and in life.For over 30 years, I have pursued this vision in a variety of roles. Grounded in my own experiences in the K-5 classroom, I have taught and mentored teachers as a university instructor, an instructional coach, a K-12 district mathematics specialist, a curriculum developer and a curriculum and professional learning consultant. In my quest to understand the systemic factors that affect mathematics teaching and learning, I have conducted and presented collaborative research on building teachers' pedagogy and leadership skills and its effect on student achievement. My dissertation research for my doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction Leadership explored ways to understand and support the varying needs of teachers as a pathway to effective curriculum implementation. I am a constructivist leader--visionary, relational, and collaborative. I am committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion--willing to lean into hard questions with an inward eye toward my own growth. I am passionate and mission-driven, with the ability to illuminate complex situations and articulate paths toward progress.My mission is to collaborate with other education leaders to equip teachers and school for this transformative work.
