Time for a further Update Oct 24 - After many years in the industry It is reassuring to have played a part in CIBSE EA Regional Committee , London and YEN Global .. its important to reflect on the small wins as well as the experience- This is a Great Industry and No two days are the same .. Its reassuring to see some of the Engineers of the future, challenging the concepts of the Past - and for me I'm still an Engineer, Sustainability is growing in Awareness and I will continue to drive this forward so for my Connections and my future connections please help me to drive change for good, continue to encourage Collaboration and Sharing of Ideas, as I still firmly believe we can't find solutions in a Silo lets work together to make it a better Industry, I'm Proud to be an A Engineer .. Since April 23 my role is / has evolved to become Associate (Building Services) Energy and Sustainability - Sorry its a bit of a mouthful. but Essentially i have been given the opportunity to embrace my passion - Energy & Sustainability working with Industry and like minded people. I intend to build a team to implement real change and support a bigger aspiration for Net 0 behavioural change to use less, & drive Carbon reduction in Everything we do. The rest is the same .. Still just as determined & tenacious to be the best Chartered Eng. I can be.. Since age of 6 wanted to be engineer and through sheer determination I made it, graduated in 2002 been working in industry since ‘98’ and achieved CEng & MCIBSE in Dec 2011 career going from strength to strength with many notable personal achievements along the way. Inc MIET in 2022 / Level 2 In Understanding sustainability in 2024 - Its never to late, My skills lie in problem solving, creative thinking and not bad at baking. I’ve recently had cause to reflect on my career, it’s been a rollercoaster ride that’s for sure, but pleased to say I’m still here which I think is a good thing !! I’m proud of being a woman in this industry, still conscious of the skill shortage we need more young engineers regardless of gender.. although you will always find that women in this industry will always push the boundaries of the norm having to work twice as hard to prove our worth .. I'm still an ambassador for STEM since may 2011 and passionate about encouraging and inspiring the future generations... & more recently Joined the Committee Sustainability SIG through CIBSE - So hopefully can still make a Dent in our Carbon Footprint !
