At EDFE in my BA role, I have gained a wide range experience through working on larger projects (as a business analyst, consultant and as a workstream lead). I'm delivery focused, self managing and have worked on small, medium and programmes of change. I have built strong relationships at all levels, both internally and with external contractors. I can handle multiple tasks, am highly organised with proven planning skills, my analytical and problem-solving skills are well developed; approaching problems in a logical manner to find the best solution, from process improvements to delivering IT solutions. I have recommended approaches, forecasted costs, resource requirements, identified risks and benefits to support recommendations and managed these.Produced my own plans for delivery, monitored, updated and delivered to timescales, defined others responsibilities to feed into the plan, gained buy-in and proactively monitored theirs, and my deliverables to completion.

Phd Research
My PhD was multi-disciplinary for chemistry and biology, from synthesis of novel drugs, bio analysis and cell culture work to test effectiveness, rather than a traditional chemistry PhD.Aims•To produce novel antioxidant compounds which would act as catalysts and mimic the action of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase and reduce oxidative stress. •Use a variety of synthetic methods to produce novel catalysts (29), which contained elements from group 16. •Evaluated through electrochemistry. •Evaluated through biochemical assays based on zinc release.•Cellular targets were purified for use in assays•The most potent antioxidants were further evaluated using neuronal cell culture. During my PhD, I used many techniques for the synthesis and evaluation of novel therapeutic compounds including organic synthesis and purification, FTIR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, atomic absorption, NMR, EI-MS, GC-MS, electrochemistry, protein purification/handling, bio-assays, SDS-Page, microbiology and cell culture (astrocytes/SH-SY5Y) MTT assay. In addition I have recently had some experience in evanescent wave cavity ringdown spectroscopy and surface plasmon resonance. During my undergraduate studies at Exeter University I had the opportunity to carry out some techniques in molecular biology. I am always interested in learning new techniques and procedures, and tend to pick these up very easily.•Extra to my PhD project a new class of cellular reactive species were hypothesised and identified, in the form of reactive sulfur species, along with possible cellular targets for these species being identified in vitro (other groups are now citing these papers in support of there own findings). •In addition to this, I also characterised the properties of a novel rice fungal peptide from Magnaporthe grisea (this work has also been published). 8 publications during my research
