Furthered the use of AVO analysis to create huge drilling success, targeting the best reservoir. Wrote a prize-winning paper on the use of AVO to identify Gething gas reservoirs.(Authored and presented an oral paper titled ‘Use of AVO and Residual Mapping to Delineate Gething Reservoir Sands: An Integrated and Practical Approach’ at the June 1999 CSEG Convention and at the October 1999 CSEG Luncheon and received two CSEG Best Paper Awards for these papers.)

Key Geophysicist for the Rigel, Buick, and Umbach properties (NEBC). Drilled several natural gas discoveries in the Gething. Developed the use of AVO analysis to create huge drilling success, targeting the best reservoir. Two of the discovery wells tested an initial 10mmcf/d.

Key geophysicist for the Buick Creek Property (Doig oil) in NEBC. Drilled first horizontal well which began the growth of this property from an initial 150 bpd to over 6000 bpd. Buick Creek (NEBC): Delineated the Doig oil & gas play utilizing detailed 2D seismic modelling & mapping; drilled the first Doig horizontal well at Buick Creek (IP=750 b/d oil); identified over 10 new locations and 2 potential new pools that, at the time, contributed to over 6500 boepd (Buick Creek); also evaluated the Halfway, Baldonnel and Bluesky Formations. Mapping of Halfway oil pool for unitization and development locations (Rigel, BC); Bluesky, Baldonnel, Halfway Formations (Nig, BC); Slave Point (Etset, Helmet); and several other projects for Halfway, Bluesky, Dunlevy, Belloy Formations (Osbourne, Flatrock, Siphon, Stoddart, Prespatou).
