My name is Karen Atkinson and I am the CEO of two organisations specialising in Children's Services. I am involved in two separate fields; training (Atkinson Training and Development) and publishing learning resources (Childcare Resources Australia). My businesses arose from my passion for advocating and improving the lives of the children in our care and raising the standards within the Children's Services profession. I have extensive experience in this field and early intervention programs. Stemming from this passion, I wanted to create a range of resources that not only met and exceed the National Standards and Regulations for the latest Children's Services package, but that were also comprehensive yet easy to read. Also, although I have separated my two organisations to avoid conflicts of interest, owning an RTO provides me with the first-hand knowledge of auditing requirements and standards which significantly aids in designs learning resources that cover all bases. This has been my latest, exciting business venture and I am thoroughly enjoying writing and distributing CRA's resources.
