I work with businesses, third sector and public sector organisations to support them with all aspects of community development and community relations. I provide support with stakeholder relations, capacity building, community organising, project management, event management and meetings, fundraising, publicity, training and supporting volunteers.I have more 20 years of community development experience including working in the private and public sector and 14 years as a local councillor.

I am director of operations at a management consultancy business I co-own with my husband. My primary role is business development including financial and legal management, client relationships, and identifying prospects and opportunities. I also provide administrative support ensuring we have effective, modern processes and systems in place including overseeing software as a service applications such as HubSpot for contact management, Crello for design and graphics, and Publer for social media management and publishing.

Local councillor for Rothwell ward representing Rothwell, Woodlesford, Oulton and Carlton in south Leeds.This involved chairing and running meetings, liaising with local community groups, schools and businesses, public speaking, publishing social media updates and a regular community newsletter.During my time as a councillor I not only worked in my ward to support local people, but also held a number of city-wide responsibilities including:* Chair of a local area community committee overseeing a budget of £500k including a youth provision budget of £100k+. As chair I led and guided decisions on budget allocation and lcoal services such as youth service provision, environoment action team and recycling, parks and leisure activities.* Member of licensing committee including chairing a city-wide review of lapdancing clubs, which resulted in new restrictions to help prevent harm to families and young people. * Member of several Scrutiny Boards including Children and Families, Health, Corporate Governance and Audit.As a councillor in a marginal ward I made extensive use of social media to listen to local people and keep them informed of issues in the local community. I created and ran the Rothwell News Facebook page, which is one of the most succesful community/political pages in West Yorkshire.

My role was to oversee and support a range of operations at this digital-focused public relations consultancy. This primarily focused on supporting the directors and executive team with finance and human resources.

I worked in a voluntary capacity to lead the Yorkshire and Humber campaign to get Andy Burnham elected as leader of the Labour Party. This included identifying, motivating and coordinating a region wide team of volunteers and supporters.I also organised a major event for supporters and secured Eddie Izzard as the guest speaker to introduce Andy.

My primary role was to use a database of young people in part-time or full time employment to make cold contact in order to identify training and learning opportunities which would benefit it them. I then had to liase with employers to persuade them to support the young people in the learning and training opportunities we had identified. I worked with young people and businesses across the whole of West Yorkshire including making site visits to conduct interviews and meetings.

My primary role was directing and running events including serveral national conferences with high profile speakers from academia, business, politics and government.
