The Fulton County Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is a 7-member board appointed by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. The BZA is responsible for hearing and deciding appeals on primary variances; interpretation of any of the provisions of the Zoning Resolution by the Director of E&CD; allegations that there is an error in any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by any Fulton County official in the enforcement of the Zoning Resolution; and a permitting or procedural decision of the Department Director or Deputy Director regarding minor or administrative variances.I was appointed as a BZA board member in 2008. I was elected as Vice Chairman of the board in 2009 by my peers. I was then elected as Chairperson of the board in 2012 and am still serving in that capacity. This board hears cases

Since its inception, EBR has participated in various meaningfulchallenges and legislative improvements, to establish fair housing for all. EBR continues to dedicate its energies toward making this dream come true. Its motto, "Democracy in Housing", truly provides the stimuli and stamina that has sustained EBR's importance in the economic engine of metropolitan Atlanta and the state of Georgia.I joined the organization as a student in the Student Chapter in 1987. Later as a practitioner in the industry I became involved in the organization and was appointed Chairperson of several committees. In December 2008 I was elected as 1st Vice President and then elected as President of the organization in 2010. As President I served as Chief Executive Officer of “The Board” and as Chief Presiding Officer at all regular and called meetings. As President I had the authority and duty to represent The Board and act in its name. Doing that, I lead a team with the mission to plan, negotiate and develop programs, projects and systems to serve its members and the community alike. We worked tirelessly with the local real estate community, banking institutions, small businesses, local municipal leadership and elected officials to create homeownership initiatives, practitioner skills development and training courses as well as events and conferences for EBR's members and the surrounding communities.
