Karen provided extensive graphic design services in and around Halifax, and Atlantic Canada since 2006, as well as painting from her home studio. In 2001 she decided to combine her business background with her love of art and design and creative spirit, and embarked upon the journey of a lifetime by applying to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University.In 2006, after graduation, she formed a one (wo)man freelance design studio called Karen Gaudet Graphic Design. Five years later, in order to better service her clients and build her brand, Karen added a few new freelancers to her small team and officially became Graphic Design Halifax. Graphic Design Halifax provides all general graphic design services, specializing in Logo design and Brand Development through Print Design and Online Media. In 2022 ownership of Graphic Design Halifax was transferred to Karen's son James Gaudet to carry the torch long into the future.Karen still paints from her home studio. Her paintings have been sold at La Maison D’Art, Lunenburg Art Gallery, Argyle Fine Art, Secord Gallery, Art Sales & Rentals Gallery at The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and various art auctions and fundraisers.Karen’s style in art, design and life is minimalist and simple. Her design philosophy? Less is more. She loves to learn, loves to do new things, thrives on change and continually tries new techniques and aesthetics in her art.
