I worked as the project manager for the implementation of the Cochrane Knowledge Translation Framework. Knowledge Translation is the process of supporting the use of health evidence from Cochrane Reviews by those who need it to make health decisions. I work with people working within Cochrane and beyond to deliver projects which aim to improve how Cochrane evidence is used in practice.

Freelance contracts have included:- University of Western Australia - Systematic reviewer assisting with the prioritisation of topics and scoping for systematic reviews in the area of Chronic Suppurative Otitis Media.- Cochrane Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders - Systematic reviewer for 7 reviews of interventions for Chronic Rhinosinusitis and one in Allergic Rhinitis.- Evidence Aid - Leading two, World Health Organisation (WHO) Commissioned systematic reviews (High indoor temperature thresholds for healthy housing, and implementation of cycling infrastructure on health). Both involved managing international teams of reviewers.- National Clinical Guidelines Centre - Systematic reviews in the fields of Pressure Ulcers and Peripheral Arterial Disease. Project management of the Chronic Kidney Disease Guideline.- Imperial College London - Data analysis of large UK patient reported outcomes database (PROMS) and linkage to Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) database. Data analysis and statistical modelling of results. Ad hoc statistical advice on other topics.- British Medical Journal - Critical appraisal and data extraction for the ‘BMJ Best Practice’ systematic reviews on minor burns and venous leg ulcers.

Developing medical guidelines for the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Completing systematic reviews of medical evidence including using GRADE, Revman (meta-analysis) and WinBugs (network meta-analysis). Project management of a team of researchers including information scientists, health economists and working groups of doctors, surgeons, nurses and patient representatives.

Developing guidelines on childhood conditions (such as Retinopathy of Prematurity). Appraising and disseminating published guidelines. Coordinating stakeholder consultations.

Working as a process engineer working to support the manufacture of, and improvements to a tablet and capsule production plant. Included the project management of the introduction of new pharmaceutical products into the manufacturing area including purchasing and installing new equipment, developing new processes and developing and giving training to personnel at all levels within the organisation. The role also included technical and complex problem solving and resolution of manufacturing issues.
