In my Pharmacovigilance Research and Planning role at BeiGene I have significantly built up PV Intelligence tools and awareness of our services. Within the Global Patient Safety Chief of Staff Office, I contribute to department-wide initiatives and projects that bring awareness of our internal business metrics, resources and capabilities.

I am currently co teaching "Societal, Political, and Ethical Issues in Biotechnology" (BIOENG 2241) in the Department of Bioengineering, with Jennifer Manz. Our Primary teaching goal is to equip Bioengineering graduate students to address ethical dilemmas that they will face in academic and industry careers.

The Project Management office at NSABP aims to advance efficiency and quality of Phase II and Phase III clinical trials. We are focused on building team performance by introducing and modeling effective project management approaches throughout the organization.

I conducted and published research on individuals with craniofacial disorders, facial movement impairments, and on children and adults with typical facial movement. My primary interest is the face and facial expression and how people move their faces to accomplish basic tasks (eating, breathing, speaking) and to express emotion. I also taught college courses on professionalism, health promotion and disease prevention.

I was the principal investigator on several NIH research projects, leading studies of Facial Nerve Dysfunction and Psychiatric Comorbidity and publishing on facial expression and nonverbal communication.

IUP was an opportunity to gain experience teaching a variety of course topics ranging from language and culture to human behavioral evolution. IUP is a unique environment with students that are actively seeking inspiration from their instructors and who inspired me in turn.

I taught an introductory anthropology course to weekend and evening students in a program designed for adult non-traditional students completing an associate’s degree and taught onventional first year sociology and anthropology courses to students enrolled at the main campus.

As a brand new graduate, I learned everything on the job, preparing and genetically transforming plant tissue explants and cells with genes for the Bt toxin. It was a great experience learning everything from sterile techniques, working with radioactive isotopes, and plant tissue culture to gaining experience in laboratory teamwork. This was a valuable and rewarding first job experience, I feel lucky to have worked there with the Zoecon research group.
