I managed the database for all incoming media requests. Assisted with media interviews pertaining to county matters. I mentored students (5-14 years old) at a weekly after-school tutoring program. All of the students were refugees from various countries in Africa. This role not only allowed me to gain teaching skills, but also allowed me to engage with students and provide support as they deal with the stress of immigrating and coping with any trauma they may have experienced.

In addition to taking classes during my semester abroad in Morocco, I also volunteered at a local orphanage. I aided the nurses in daily tasks such as feeding, changing diapers, and supervising playtime. Additionally I observed the short-term and long-term needs of the workers, children, and the facility, then collaborated with other volunteers on projects to help the organization meet those needs. During my time at ODJFS I worked on the implementation of the Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCMEP), which focused on streamlining the federal aid process and moving young Ohioans up and out of poverty. I aided Office of Human Services Innovation directors in reviewing each county JFS's implementation plan and maintained communication with county officials. I also determined trends and common areas of strength and weakness within the implementation plans.

As a content creator/writer, I authored weekly articles on a range of topics, from political current events to opinion pieces. Several of my articles received hundreds and thousands of social media shares.
