In my role as Acting President & CEO, I oversee NLC’s strategic direction, manage national operations, and ensure the financial sustainability of our programs. I work closely with our Board of Directors, staff, and partners to raise the funds necessary to support our mission, while continually refining our organizational vision to address the evolving.

With 13,000 alumni, New Leaders Council is an organization beaming with talented individuals who are making positive change in their communities. NLC Spark!Talks provide an opportunity for our community members to share their stories and ideas. Karen coaches alumni who have been chosen to perform Spark!Talks at NLC National Convention, after giving her own.

Every fellow across the country participates in NLC's LEAD Institute in the first weekend of our 6 month program. The curriculum binds together fellows and alumni as we create a shared language around building community, entrepreneurship, changing the political landscape, and leadership development within a progressive framework. Karen has facilitated LEAD.

Karen Pandy-Cherry is the Vice President of Programs at New Leaders Council. She is responsible for the strategy and implementation of all NLC programming, from the Institute to alumni support and NLC convention.

The NLC Black Caucus informs, educates, and empowers NLC members to address issues and policies which directly impact the Black community. To leverage our collective strength as caucus members to inform, educate, and empower the Black community while serving as an information resource to community organizers and activists.
