My role as Marketing Director for Cambridge Partners, Inc. was an amazing experience that refined my skills in leadership, property management operations, sales and marketing. Working for a mid-size management company has many advantages, but my favorite was the fact that I was able to wear so many different "hats" in my job. From developing marketing plans, sales training, event-planning, advertising design, Internet marketing, networking, promotions, public relations and so on, I loved every aspect of my job. When the opportunity presented itself to pursue a career with For Rent Media Solutions, I made the difficult choice to leave this position to follow my dream to continue to grow in my profession in sales and marketing.

In this position I was responsible for the lease up and first phase grand opening of a brand new luxury student apartment community. This was an excellent introduction into student multi-family housing and new development. My responsibilities included recruiting, hiring, developing and managing leasing staff, overseeing the lease up progress and meeting goals for leasing all newly constructed buildings, working with maintenance supervisor for inspection and punch list for each new unit, developing policies, procedures and best practices for communication with new student residents and parents, assisting and advising the marketing director for successful outreach marketing, branding, special events and overseeing a successful grand opening move in day. I left this position to pursue a local opportunity with Cambridge Partners because of the commute from Grand Rapids to Lansing.

During the course of my employment at Ramblewood/AIMCO I was promoted two times. I started as a Leasing Consultant at Ramblewood (1710 units) then was promoted to Leasing Manager within two years. I was then promoted to the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for AIMCO's West Michigan portfolio which included 4 large communities. This was an excellent position for me where I learned property management operations, financials, employee development, leadership, sales training, marketing strategies, inside and outside sales, branding, recruiting, hiring and many other valuable skills that have shaped my career. I left this position to pursue an opportunity with a growing student housing development company in East Lansing.
